1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels (tiny tracking images), SDKs and device fingerprinting. In the UK their use is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and, where personal data is involved, the UK GDPR.

2. Consent

Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot work without them — the law permits this. Every other category is set only after you press "Accept all" in our banner. If you choose "Essential only", no analytics or advertising cookies are set by us. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and we do not use cookie walls, pre-ticked boxes or "legitimate interests" as a substitute for consent on advertising.

3. Categories we use

Strictly necessary

• amapei-cookie-consent (local storage, up to 12 months) — remembers your banner choice so we do not ask again.
• Session and security tokens set by our hosting and CDN provider to balance traffic and block abusive requests (session to 12 months).

Analytics / performance (consent required)

• First- or third-party analytics identifiers used to count visits, measure how far readers scroll through an advertorial and see which headlines work (typically 1 day to 14 months).
• We use aggregated reports only; we do not attempt to identify individual readers from analytics data.

Advertising / attribution (consent required)

• Native advertising network pixels — for example Outbrain, Taboola, Meta or Google — which record that a click on an ad led to this page and whether it led to a purchase (typically 30 days to 24 months).
• Affiliate click identifiers appended to the outbound product link so the retailer can credit the referral. These are set on the retailer's domain once you arrive there, under their policy.

Functional

• Preferences such as dismissed notices. We keep these to a minimum and they carry no advertising identifier.

4. Third-party content

Product imagery and video on our pages may be served from the retailer's or manufacturer's media domain. Loading that media reveals your IP address and browser details to the host, which may set its own cookies under its own policy. Embedded video, if present, is loaded in privacy-enhanced mode where the platform offers it.

5. How to change or withdraw consent

• Clear cookies and site data for amapei.com in your browser settings; our banner will reappear on your next visit and you can choose again.
• Block or delete cookies globally in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge via their privacy settings — note that blocking all cookies may break parts of many websites.

6. Consequences of refusing

The article, the product card, every button and every legal page work exactly the same if you refuse non-essential cookies. The only difference is that our reporting will be less accurate and any advertising you subsequently see will be less relevant.
